Job summary

Tacit, an innovative startup in San Francisco, is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to architect and optimize next-gen neurotech hardware. In this role, you'll manage embedded AI stacks and work closely with hardware to push the boundaries of human-computer interaction.

Successful candidates will have over 5 years of embedded firmware experience, strong C/C++/Rust skills, and a passion for developing on-device intelligence.

Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 annually with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in embedded firmware or edge ML systems.
• Strong experience in C/C++/Rust on embedded platforms.
• Knowledge of RTOS and ML inference deployment on embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Own deployment of ML models onto embedded targets using NPUs.
• Build realtime sensor-to-inference pipelines.
• Optimize energy per inference across the system.
• Debug firmware across various hardware components.
