Job summary

Summa Health Systems is seeking a Staff Financial Analyst II for Hospital Financial Operations at the Akron City campus with a hybrid schedule. The role partners with executives to analyze performance, optimize financial outcomes, and support strategic healthcare initiatives.

You will develop budgets, forecast financials, and create models to drive informed decisions, while collaborating with clinical and administrative leaders to improve efficiency and patient care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in healthcare financial analysis, consulting, or related technical/business environment.
  • Knowledge of acute care hospitals and integrated delivery systems.
  • Advanced skills in financial modeling, spreadsheets, and presentation tools.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management abilities.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to simplify complex financial concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop hospital and departmental budgets.
  • Create hospital and department financial forecasts, variance analyses and operational performance models.
  • Analyze operational, organizational, and staffing trends to support leadership decisions.
  • Support departmental leadership with productivity reviews and hours/UOS performance management.

  • Preparing and presenting tailored financial reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Supporting strategic business planning projects and healthcare initiatives.
  • Providing project management oversight for special assignments and system-wide initiatives.
  • Partnering across medical, operational, and financial departments to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.

What You’ll Do

What You Bring
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Operations Management, or related field
Experience

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
