Job summary

University of Colorado Boulder Residence Life seeks an Associate Director of Staff Experience, a full-time, twelve-month, live-out senior leadership role. You will steer the department’s staff experience lifecycle from recruitment through offboarding, ensuring engaging and values-aligned processes across 10,000+ residents in 24 halls.

You will supervise an Assistant Director and Coordinator, collaborate across HR, Finance, and Student Life, and lead initiatives to attract, develop, and retain

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Residence Life or Housing.
• 5+ years of experience with progressively responsible organizational authority in higher education.
• 2+ years of experience supervising full-time professionals.
• Experience leading employee recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior leader and member of Residence Life Leadership Team, guiding vision, planning, priorities and operational decisions.
• Provide oversight of recruitment, onboarding, training, development, recognition, and offboarding programs for staff.
• Lead staff learning and development strategies, including multi-year development pathways and online/blended learning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with university policies and employment practices and coordinate with HR and campus partners.
• Oversee departmental operations during openings, occupancy transitions, and crises; participate in on-call rotations as needed.
• Build and sustain partnerships with HR, University Housing, Finance, Student Life Employee Experience, and Career Services.

Education

Master’s degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development or related field
