Job summary

Celestica, Inc. seeks a Staff Engineer, Systems/Applications Design to lead the design, integration and management of complex systems across their life cycles.

You will guide cross-functional teams and coordinate with customers, supply chain and project leadership to deliver robust, high-quality solutions. In this role you’ll own requirements engineering, reliability, testing, deployment planning and liaison with vendors, while shaping architecture and ensuring maintainability.

Qualifications

• Lead the design and integration of complex systems across their life cycles.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams and assign tasks.
• Coordinate with customers, supply chain and project leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects with multiple domains.
• Provide technical leadership to a sizable engineering team and act as go-to expert in areas.
• Manage non-technical elements of a project (people, budgets).
• Review customer requirements and serve as primary customer contact.
• Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and plan deployment strategies.
• Drive deployment of strategic programs and coordinate site-wide efforts.
• Manage relationships with key vendors and partners.
• Research ideas and develop plans for new systems.
• Design and modify systems to meet Celestica needs and architect solutions.
• Test, simulate and measure system performance; troubleshoot as needed.
• Stay current with industry knowledge and regulations.
• Resolve complex problems and communicate findings.
• Liaise with suppliers, customers and internal teams.
• Analyze data and recommend system modifications.
• Create reports and documentation.
