Job summary

Sandisk seeks an experienced Staff Engineer to lead cross‑platform system validation for next‑gen NVMe SSDs. You will shape technical direction, architect scalable validation strategies, and drive engineering excellence across firmware, hardware, QA, and tools teams.

You will oversee NVMe functional tests, stress patterns, and telemetry collection, while mentoring engineers to deliver customer‑grade quality at scale. The role blends deep technical execution with hands‑on leadership.

Qualifications

10+ years in SSD validation, platform integration, or storage systems.
Deep expertise in NVMe command/admin flows, queues, error-recovery.
PCIe link behavior, LTSSM, training, ASPM, hot removal.
Linux (blk-mq, IO scheduler, kern logs) and Windows storage paths.
Server-class BIOS/UEFI, ACPI, power/thermal states, crash dump flows.
Robust hands-on with fio, multi-threaded stress, complex workloads.
Automation with Python (preferred), Bash, and PowerShell.

Responsibilities

Lead system integration strategy for functional, stress, and interoperability validation across platforms and OSes.
Develop scalable automation for system-level workflows including NVMe tests, reset/boot flows, PCIe behaviors, telemetry collection.
Drive system-level triage by identifying failure domains and accelerating root-cause isolation.
Collaborate across FW, HW, Validation, Tools, and Architecture to align system behavior with design decisions.
Enhance productivity by improving test coverage, reducing cycle time, and improving platform readiness.
Introduce new methodologies for system interop, workload generation, stress scenarios, and validation gating.
Mentor engineers and uplift system-level engineering rigor.
