Job summary

FACC Texas in Houston, TX is seeking a Staff Engineer who will split time between office engineering and supervising field operations. The role includes preparing scopes of work, contacting vendors, budgeting, assisting with procurement, and reporting to clients and regulators.

Field supervision covers testing, workovers, and drilling projects. Travel up to 70% is required; state and federal regulations for waste injection and CO2 sequestration wells must be understood.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in petroleum engineering or related field.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience.
• Considerable amount of time spent outside the office at various project sites throughout all areas of the United States.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for individual projects.
• Prepare detailed procedures for projects including: well testing, acid treatment, wireline diagnostics, coiled tubing, workover, drilling and sidetracking.
• Perform and/or check technical calculations.
• Collaborate with other team members to meet deliverables on project and obtain further knowledge and experiences.
• Effectively communicate with project manager, engineers, and other members of the project team.
• Solicit bids and pre-qualify potential vendors; Analyze bids, select, and contact project vendors.
• Overnight, out-of-town travel and the ability to work outside normal business hours.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; and
• Prepare final reports on projects for submittal to client and regulatory agencies.
