GEICO is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, enterprise-level solutions for our Pricing organization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software engineering with a focus on Insurance / Finance related applications. This position involves hands-on technical leadership, innovation, and collaboration to align technology solutions with business goals.
Position DescriptionIn this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, product experts, and other technical leaders, to deliver end-to-end pricing solutions that will transform how GEICO develops and manages Pricing strategies. You will play a key role in the architecture, development, and deployment of cutting-edge solutions while ensuring best practices in software design, security, and performance. This role combines technical expertise with strong functional knowledge of Finance Systems.
Position ResponsibilitiesAs a Staff Software Engineer for Pricing, you will:
Lead the design and development of resilient and highly scalable solutions for the Pricing teams.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology solutions with business goals and requirements.
Ensure seamless integration of financial data from ERP systems, sub-ledgers and other enterprise sources to support the Pricing system requirements
Mentor other engineers and consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams
Oversee system-wide technical initiatives, migrations, performance tuning, and process automation and develop clear documentation of the systems and processes
15+ years of professional experience in software development with a deep understanding of object-oriented design with expertise in either Java or C#
10+ years of professional experience working with ERP Systems (Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, Workday)
5+ years of Insurance systems experience is a plus
Experience building custom business applications across the full stack, from data-driven backend logic to intuitive and response user interfaces.
Strong understanding of relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and data integration frameworks.
In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms and technologies (AWS, Azure) and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
Good understanding of security protocols and products: Understanding of Active Directory, Windows Authentication, SAML, OAuth.
Ability to effectively communicate with various audiences (leadership, highly technical, and non-technical business partners)
Ability to excel in a fast-paced, startup-like environment
·Bachelor’s Degree in in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Annual Salary
$105,000.00 - $260,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
