Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Staff Engineer to lead Java-based development, test engineering, and applied AI initiatives. You will shape architecture for a cross-functional product area, drive a multi-team technical roadmap, and integrate AI-driven testing and automation while ensuring enterprise reliability, security, and observability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-stack development experience across client and server sides.
• 6+ years of architecture and technical direction across multiple teams.
• 2+ years of applied AI, generative AI, or intelligent automation in production.
• Deep automated testing practices with AI-assisted testing and governance.

Responsibilities

• Own technical architecture and direction for a multi-team product/platform area; align roadmaps and surface tradeoffs to stakeholders.
• Drive adoption of platforms, patterns, and standards; articulate a clear technical vision and measure uptake.
• Define and advance automated testing strategy across the test pyramid, including shift-left quality and CI gates.
• Accelerate test creation and maintenance with AI-assisted testing and governance.
