Job summary

Micron Technology in the United States is seeking a Staff Engineer for SSD Validation to lead system-level validation, qualification, and joint qualification with customers for Enterprise and Datacenter NVMe SSD products.

You will direct validation strategy, mentor engineers, and collaborate across firmware, hardware, manufacturing, and customer engineering teams, ensuring readiness for production on internal and customer platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of SSD/storage/semiconductor validation with NVMe/PCIe knowledge.
• Hands-on Linux, OS bring-up, drive triage, and root-cause analysis.
• Experience in Enterprise/Datacenter SSD firmware validation and system-level qualification.
• Python for automation and data analysis; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead system-level validation and qualification across SSDs, firmware, drivers, OS, networking, and platforms.
• Direct validation test plans from development through completion, including failure analysis and JQ requirements.
• Perform hands-on system bring-up, debug, and configuration including OS installation and driver validation.
• Support customer and partner issue reproduction, translating findings into internal test cases.
• Develop and improve automated test frameworks and Python tools; drive shift-left validation.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools and data-driven methods to improve validation efficiency and coverage.
