Job summary

Western Alliance Bank seeks a Staff Engineer II to lead MuleSoft API development and entitlement services within a regulated financial services environment. You will drive API governance, design scalable API solutions, and collaborate with Architecture, Security, Risk, and Delivery teams.

As a senior technical leader, you will mentor teams, develop architecture roadmaps, and communicate strategies through executive-level narratives while ensuring compliance with enterprise standards and

Qualifications

7+ years of related IT experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related IT field
Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform including API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, CloudHub/Hybrid deployments
Experience with financial services API ecosystems and governance practices
Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and API security scanning
Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS and open banking standards
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

Lead API gateways and API management platforms including policy implementation and monitoring
Enforce engineering standards, governance, and architectural best practices across teams
Plan strategic technical solution designs for projects
Design reliability and recovery procedures
Develop and monitor API performance metrics for business partners
Document configurations, procedures, and IT policy compliance
