Job summary

Western Alliance Bancorporation is seeking a MuleSoft API Principal Engineer I to architect and implement high‑performing MuleSoft APIs for secure payments processing. You will lead API lifecycle, enforce security with OAuth 2.0, JWT and mTLS, and develop observability through ELK.

You will drive the adoption of GenAI tools to accelerate API creation, ensure scalable, compliant designs, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams across IT and banking domains to optimize cost and resilience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor's degree required; Masters or MBA preferred.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Advanced to expert knowledge in Financial Services or Banking.
• Experience with regulatory compliance and audits.
• Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement MuleSoft APIs for high-performance, scalable, secure payments processing.
• Lead API lifecycle from development to maintenance and security hardening.
• Enforce API security best practices (OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, encryption).
• Develop observability with ELK and metrics dashboards for API performance.
• Lead adoption of GenAI tools to accelerate API development and consistency.
• Design resilient architectures with HA, disaster recovery, and cost optimization.
