Job summary

Wunderlich-Malec Engineering, Inc. in Saco, ME seeks a Staff Engineer to lead electrical design, relay settings, and system studies for power facilities.

You will work with engineers, designers, field technicians, and commissioning personnel across lifecycle stages from design through startup and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has 2–8+ years of related experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while mentoring others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical or engineering technology) from an accredited institution is preferred.
• 2-8+ years of engineering and/or testing & commissioning experience; include power systems knowledge.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar design software; PDF editing with Bluebeam Revu or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop Protection & Control design packages including diagrams and relay settings.
• Perform relay coordination studies and protection system analysis.
• Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with client standards and industry codes.
• Provide field support for testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate project risks, schedule concerns, and resource needs to management.
