Job summary

Rivian is seeking a data-focused engineer to own one or more data pipelines for the Perception System, driving data-driven improvements and evaluating autonomy features. You will work with labeling, curation, and ML infrastructure teams to scale data operations and ensure high-quality datasets for model enhancement.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, advanced analytics, and rigorous attention to data diversity and distribution, with a strong emphasis on accelerating autonomy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Extensive professional experience in Software Development and statistical analysis.
• Experience in robotics, perception or autonomy environment strongly preferred.
• Strong problem solving and coordination skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Excellent teamwork and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement of onboard perception data by addressing limitations with improved training data.
• Build tooling to understand data distributions and priorities with autonomy teams.
• Coordinate with labeling and curation teams to enhance data diversity and dataset quality.
• Manage operations to improve training and evaluation datasets including curation and generation.
• Collaborate with ML Infrastructure to scale data operations and standardize performance understanding.
