Job summary

Rivian seeks a data-focused engineer to own data pipelines for the Perception System, driving data-driven improvements for evaluation and autonomy features. You will work on datasets, tooling, and processes to enable rapid, scalable improvements in model training and deployment.

You will partner with labeling, data engineering and ML infrastructure teams in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment to expand data coverage and reliability for Rivian's perception capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Extensive professional experience in Software Development and statistical analysis.
• Experience in robotics, perception or autonomy environments is strongly preferred.
• Strong problem solving and cross-functional coordination in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement of onboard performance by addressing data limitations through better training data.
• Collaborate with labeling and curation teams to improve data diversity, scale and accuracy.
• Manage operations to improve training and evaluation datasets through curation and generation.
• Build tools with ML Infrastructure to scale data operations.
• Coordinate with perception, systems engineering and data teams to standardize performance understanding.
