Job summary

Shield AI is seeking an experienced software engineer to build the foundation for autonomous systems. You will develop and integrate core software and platform infrastructure that powers mission-critical technology, working across teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions from development through deployment.

You will own platform integration across SIL, HIL, VIL and edge workflows, create reference workspaces and tooling, and integrate software across hardware, sensors, APIs and fleet

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in software engineering for robotics, autonomy, or embedded platforms.
• Strong C++ and Python with experience building developer tools and automation.
• Experience with Linux-based systems, hardware interfaces, and debugging tools.
• BS or MS in Engineering, CS, or related field; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Own platform integration across SIL, HIL, VIL, and edge deployment workflows.
• Build and maintain reference workspaces, platform reference implementations, and tooling.
• Integrate platform software across hardware, sensors, controllers, APIs, and fleet management systems.
• Support embedded platform bring-up and hardware diversification across test platforms.
• Improve platform stability, API quality, developer experience, and scalability.
• Partner with autonomy, hardware, product, and program teams to close integration gaps.
