Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a senior autonomy software leader to deliver complex autonomy capabilities across multiple platforms. You will own end-to-end integration, mentor engineers, and coordinate with platform teams to ensure mission readiness and successful deployments.

You will influence technical direction, drive architecture discussions, and participate in design reviews while maintainingpace in a fast-evolving defense-tech environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Expert C++ and Linux development experience.
• Experience leading complex autonomy or systems integration efforts.
• Experience influencing technical direction across engineering teams.
• Experience operating successfully in ambiguous or rapidly evolving technical environments.
• Ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of autonomy capabilities across Emerging Domains for new platforms and mission areas.
• Own challenging integration efforts and drive alignment across multiple subsystems.
• Mentor engineers and remove technical obstacles to deliver complex capabilities.
• Partner with platform engineering teams to evolve interfaces, hardware/software compatibility, and mission readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver integrated autonomy solutions.
• Drive design reviews, architecture discussions, ICD development, and documentation improvements.
• Prepare for live testing, demonstrations, and operational deployments across multiple platforms.
