Job summary

GEICO is seeking a Staff Engineer, Applied AI to shape how Generative AI enhances customer and associate experiences. You will design, build, and scale AI-powered capabilities across enterprise workflows, focusing on automation, decision support, and intelligent assistants.

You will mentor engineers and scientists, partner with product and data teams, and drive production-grade AI initiatives across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering or applied ML experience, including 2+ years with Generative AI or LLMs in production.
• Experience adding intelligence to internal processes and workflows to improve efficiency and decision making.
• Proven reliability and scalability improvements through architectural changes and infra enhancements.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to automate business processes using AI, workflows, and agent-based systems.
• Architect and deploy AI solutions across enterprise workflows including automation and document intelligence.
• Design AI agents and workflows that orchestrate tools, APIs, reasoning steps, and business logic at scale.
• Build reliable, scalable services with strong performance and availability guarantees.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and analytics to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Mentor engineers and scientists to develop AI and agent-based workflow skills.
• Drive innovation by evaluating new models and frameworks for production use.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide guidance on deployment across teams.
• Run rigorous experimentation with hypothesis, measurement, validation, and iteration.
