Job summary

Wwshemi is seeking a skilled engineer to join a small team building AI systems for hospitality workflows. You will own full-stack components that resolve guest requests end to end, from understanding intent to coordinating tools and generating responses.

On-site in San Francisco, California, you will design retrieval pipelines, implement multi-step tool workflows, and build interfaces for non-technical teams while optimizing speed and cost.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and shipping production systems.
• Hands-on experience with AI/ML systems including retrieval pipelines.
• Experience designing knowledge retrieval or grounding systems.
• Proficient in a backend language (Python, Go, Rust, or Java).

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end response pipelines with intent routing and escalation.
• Build retrieval systems grounding responses in current user data.
• Create robust multi-step tool workflows with third-party failures handling.
• Develop evaluation frameworks from real conversations to detect regressions.
• Add observability and tracing to make agent behavior understandable.
• Build interfaces for non-technical teams to adjust agent behavior.
• Extend platform to voice with real-time transcription and tool use.
• Improve speed and cost via routing, caching, and prompt refinement.
