Job summary

Samsung Semiconductor is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead AI platform enablement and emerging applications. You will drive SSD qualification and production readiness for next‑generation AI/compute platforms with NVIDIA, AMD, and partners.

This role requires coordinating with customer teams and internal engineering groups to ensure timely integration and value delivery. The position is based in San Jose with daily onsite work and up to 10% domestic travel, reporting to the Principal Engineer, R&D

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS with 10+ years experience, or MSc with 8+ years.
PhD with 5+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Lead SSD enablement and qualification activities for next‑gen AI/compute platforms.
Own sample planning, qualification schedules, validation milestones, and production readiness.
Serve as primary technical interface with customer engineering and validation teams.
Coordinate system testing and resolve SSD, PCIe/NVMe, firmware, thermal, power, and interoperability issues.
Align product planning, firmware, hardware, validation, QA, and operations to deliver samples and fixes.
Identify emerging AI storage workloads and drive proof‑of‑concept activities.
Communicate platform requirements and qualification feedback to internal teams.
Monitor AI platform evolution and identify technology gaps and new opportunities.
