Job summary

Samsung Semiconductor is hiring an AI Platform Enablement & Emerging Applications Engineer to lead SSD enablement and qualification for next-generation AI platforms. The role collaborates with NVIDIA, AMD, and other partners from early engineering through production readiness.

You will coordinate enterprise SSD qualification and system validation across hardware, firmware, and software domains, driving timely samples, fixes, and platform readiness for major NPI programs. Daily onsite in San Jose.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 10+ years experience or an advanced degree with 8+ years or a PhD with 5+ years experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise SSD, server platform, storage system, semiconductor, or data center infrastructure engineering experience.
• Experience supporting server, accelerator, or data center platform qualification and NPI programs.
• Strong understanding of enterprise SSDs, PCIe, NVMe, server architecture, firmware, performance, power, thermal and interoperability.
• Experience with modern AI/hyperscale infrastructure, including GPU-based systems and large-scale server deployments.
• Ability to coordinate resolution of complex system-level issues across hardware, firmware, software, and platform boundaries.
• Proven cross-functional leadership across engineering, product planning, validation, operations, sales, and customer organizations.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication across global teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead SSD enablement and qualification activities for next-gen AI/compute platforms from early engineering engagement to production readiness.
• Own sample planning, qualification schedules, validation milestones, issue tracking, and launch readiness for major platform NPI programs.
• Serve as the primary technical interface with customer engineering and validation teams.
• Coordinate system-level testing and cross-functional issue resolution across SSD, PCIe/NVMe, firmware, thermal, and power.
• Align product planning, firmware, hardware, validation, quality, FAE, and operations for timely samples and fixes.
• Capture and communicate platform requirements, validation criteria, and qualification feedback to internal teams.
• Identify emerging AI storage workloads and drive feasibility studies, benchmarking, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Explore new storage opportunities related to AI inference, KV cache, memory extension, and related data-intensive workloads.
