Job summary

Clusia in New York City is seeking a hands-on engineer to work closely with the CTO and founding engineers on core architecture, infrastructure, and AI-powered workflows. You will own meaningful parts of the product from day one in a lean, high-talent-density environment with no extra layers.

This role requires shipping code in person, deep problem understanding, and the ability to navigate a highly regulated domain while delivering reliable, end-to-end product experiences.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, agents, retrieval, prompting, and production AI systems.
• Ability to build clean, reliable product experiences from end to end.
• Comfort with cloud services, deployment, observability, reliability, and security.
• Experience designing tests, benchmarks, and feedback loops for model quality.
• Pragmatic, fast-moving mindset with ownership of ambiguous technical problems.
• Strong user empathy and care for the people using the product.
• Evidence of creating projects or tools beyond work (open source, side projects, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Own important parts of the product from the beginning, including architecture and infrastructure.
• Contribute to customer-facing workflows and AI-powered product experiences.
• Understand customer problems deeply and make technical decisions in ambiguity.
