Clasp is hiring an early-career engineer as the second member of AI Labs to shape what comes next. You will own problems from discovery through adoption, work across the stack, and ship tools that improve Claspmates’ workflows.

This role emphasizes autonomy, feedback, and learning to own meaningful problems end-to-end, not perfect solutions, while helping to turn ideas into shipped products for education and career opportunities.

Qualifications

• Evidence you can ship: built and shipped at least one tool/product/project.
• Practical AI fluency: you can explain where AI helps, its limits, and how you’d evaluate quality in a workflow.
• Full-stack range: reason about interfaces, backend logic, APIs and data flows, with ownership of a bounded feature end-to-end.
• Product judgment: talk to users, define scope, and measure outcomes.
• Fast learning: seek context, handle incomplete information, and welcome coaching.

Responsibilities

• Own problems from discovery through adoption and measure impact.
• Build and improve internal tools and AI agents, including instructions, tools, guardrails, and handoffs.
• Document decisions, setup, risks, and operating steps; surface risks early.
