Job summary

Basilone Executive Search is seeking a Process Development Engineer for a new Weirton, WV plant. The role focuses on creating and maintaining manufacturing processes with emphasis on SQDC. The plant supports a lean, quality-driven production culture established since 2019.

You will specify equipment, develop process parameters, document procedures, and support tooling design, with ROI justification and cross-functional collaboration to drive yields and cost improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate and/or bachelor’s degree, Engineering student, or higher in Engineering or related S.T.E.M. area.
• CAD (e.g. Autodesk suite or Solidworks).
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• ERP systems (JDE), creation of product codes, routings.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and 6 sigma concepts for process development.
• Fluency in MS Office software applications.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining manufacturing processes focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Create and manage project plans for process development activities.
• Provide ROI justification for process/equipment improvements.

Job description

High Visibility to Senior Management [Work for Senior Management ]

Strategically based in Weirton (WV) the manufacturing area is covering 30,000 sqf on a 32 acre property suitable for further expansion. The new plant, built from scratch to incorporate the 20 years experience of lean manufacturing of the Group, operating since 2019.

Process Development

• Developing new and maintaining or improving existing manufacturing processes with a focus on SAFETY, QUALITY, DELIVERY, and COST (SQDC). Creating and managing project plans (tasks, resources, schedules) for process development activities.
• Providing ROI justification for process/equipment improvements and upgrades.
• Specifying, identifying and procuring new manufacturing equipment for production readiness and preparing equipment for production.
• Developing and optimizing process parameters.
• Developing/revising process documentation and work instructions.
• Assisting with design of custom tooling.

Factory Support

• Monitoring process yields, cost, and process stability and capability.
• Recommending and implementing quality improvements based on the above metrics.
• Creating, validating and maintaining automatic equipment programs.
• Solving manufacturing problems (related to materials, designs, equipment, people) in a timely manner.
• Assisting with the training of new personnel and participating in the design of operator training materials.
• Supporting factory maintenance personnel with the troubleshooting and repair of process equipment.

Design Support

• Codification of products.
• Understanding on multi-level BoM structures
