Job summary

Relativity Space seeks an experienced propulsion engineer to lead engine system architecture trades and manage interfaces for the Terran R program.

You will collaborate across propulsion, manufacturing, software, and avionics, owning critical decisions and delivering robust engine solutions in a fast-growing startup. Expect travel and hands-on work in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science, engineering, technology, or mathematics field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in engineering system development or testing.
• Experience applying engineering fundamentals in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
• Working knowledge of liquid-propellant rocket engines.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to travel and coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive engine system architecture trades and manage engine interfaces.
• Negotiate requirements to optimize for the vehicle and support system development.
• Contribute to engine system analysis, testing, and tool development.
• Coordinate across propulsion, manufacturing, software, and avionics teams.
