Job summary

Relativity Space is building rockets to enable today’s missions and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. The Propulsion team develops high-performance, manufacturable engines for Terran R and manages full life cycles from design to flight.

This role requires leading engine system trades, coordinating interfaces, and driving tool development within a fast-growing startup environment. You will collaborate across propulsion, manufacturing, software, and avionics, contributing technical depth and ownership

Qualifications

• Experience applying engineering fundamentals in fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
• Demonstrated ownership, problem solving, and collaboration from school or work.
• Driven to deliver on ambitious schedules, with creative solutions when needed.

Responsibilities

• Drive engine system trades (architecture + CONOPS) and manage engine interfaces.
• Negotiate requirements to optimize the vehicle and support engine development.
• Support engine system analysis, simulations, testing, and tool development.
• Lead collaborative projects with minimal oversight and take initiative.
