Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff EMI/EMC Engineer to join the aerospace and defense engineering team. The role emphasizes EMI/EMC control for phased array systems, collaboration with design, test, and systems teams, and compliance with industry standards.

You will model fields with CST/HFSS, plan tests, analyze results, and lead improvements in EMI/EMC practices while mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of EMI/EMC engineering experience, preferably in aerospace/defense.
• Experience with EMI/EMC test equipment and tools.
• Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation software (CST HFSS FEKO).

Responsibilities

• Develop EMI/EMC control plans and mitigations.
• Guide design teams on EMI/EMC considerations and standards.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct EMI/EMC testing per MIL-STD-461, DO-160, ECSS.
• Model electromagnetic fields using CST HFSS/ANSYS to predict interference.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and documentation for EMI/EMC.
• Investigate EMI/EMC issues and develop corrective actions.
• Prepare test results, compliance matrices, and design guidelines.
• Lead improvements in EMI/EMC design practices, testing methods, and tools.
• Mentor junior engineers on EMI/EMC design and testing.
