Job summary
Rivian is seeking an Electromagnetic Compatibility Engineer at Staff level to enable safe, reliable high-voltage systems in our electric vehicles. You will lead EMC for traction inverters, BMS, and power electronics, and coordinate across EMC, Energy Storage, and Energy Power Conversion teams.
Responsibilities include developing and validating electromagnetic models, testing ECUs and vehicle margins, and delivering system-level strategies for HV distribution, grounding, shielding and filtering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/computer engineering or similar, 5+ years experience.
- Master's degree in electrical engineering or similar, 3+ years.
- PhD in electrical engineering or similar, 1+ year.
- Strong fundamentals: analog, RLC, transmission lines, SMPS.
- Hands-on debugging across orgs/teams.
- Experience with MATLAB and Python for data analysis.
- Expertise in packaging, shielding, and harness integration for HV systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate electromagnetic models for vehicle EMC.
- Test ECU and vehicle design margins in EMC labs.
- Lead EMI integration of high-efficiency power conversion.
- Produce PCB-to-system HV distribution strategies.
