Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems seeks a Staff Embedded Software Engineer IPT Lead to guide a cross-disciplinary engineering team and manage cost accounts across programs, interfacing with Engineering and Program Management to drive timely delivery.

The role emphasizes Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps and Agile practices to advance critical national defense capabilities. A Secret clearance is required to start, with citizenship and SAP prerequisites to be met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in STEM with 12 years related experience (Master’s 10, Ph.D. 8).
• U.S. Citizenship is required and Active Secret clearance to start.
• 2 years experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing EVMS projects.
• 8 years experience with real-time embedded software.
• 10 years experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during a program’s EMD phase.
• Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including EVMS, critical path management, EACs, and workload forecasts.
• Lead staffing efforts for each team, ensuring appropriate skill mix and coverage.
• Plan and coordinate bench time priorities across engineering program initiatives.
• Manage Jira boards to track progress and issues, documenting blockers and team performance.
• Maintain and communicate delivery schedules.
• Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts.
• Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership.
• Work with suppliers and articulate project requirements.
