Job summary

Ford Motor Company seeks a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to architect and develop the foundational software platform for next-gen automotive ECUs. You will design embedded platform software, RTOS configurations, and low-level drivers used across vehicle programs.

You will lead cross-functional collaboration, embed ISO 26262 safety principles, and mentor engineers in platform architecture, safety-critical design, and MISRA C compliance.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related STEM field.
• Experience with embedded C and MISRA C.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety processes.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and roadmap for real-time drivers, embedded RTOS config, and platform middleware.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to develop libraries and safety-aligned designs.
• Establish unified embedded coding standards and safety-critical design practices.
• Mentor engineers on embedded architecture and low-level driver development.
