Ford Motor Company seeks an Embedded Controls Software Engineer to define, develop, and deliver next-generation vehicle motion control systems. You will work at the intersection of embedded software, electrical systems, and vehicle dynamics to create intuitive and engaging driving experiences.

The role emphasizes safety-critical design, hardware bring-up, and cross-domain collaboration with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years in embedded control systems for chassis or vehicle motion control.
• 5+ years with electrical hardware applications and prototype bring-up.
• 5+ years with vehicle network protocols (CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet).
• 5+ years of experience with C, Python, Git, Bazel, CANape, RTOS.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement control strategies for advanced vehicle motion functions (lateral and longitudinal dynamics).
• Design embedded control algorithms translating driver intent into precise vehicle behavior.
• Support centralized vehicle motion control architecture across domains.
• Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to define interfaces and requirements for components.
• Lead subsystem design reviews and capture component-level requirements.
• Develop test strategies and validate firmware functionality across operating conditions.
