Job summary

Crusoe is recruiting a Staff Electrical Engineer to lead front-end engineering and execution of power plant facilities across the USA. You will bridge front-end design and field execution, focusing on power generation assets, electrical studies, and HV/MV switchgear integration.

The role requires 6+ years of industrial electrical experience, NEC expertise, and deep knowledge of generator physics, protection, and control coordination. Occasional travel (~20%) is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with 6+ years in industrial electrical engineering.
• Strong NEC knowledge for industrial installations.
• Experience with generator physics and operations; protection and control coordination.
• Familiarity with IEC 61850 and related protocols (GOOSE/MMS).

Responsibilities

• Lead front-end engineering for capital power projects and sizing of power systems.
• Review drawings, schematics, and studies to meet design specs.
• Support construction and commissioning of power-plant assets.
• Troubleshoot electrical failures with field operations; perform root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate integration of high/medium voltage equipment (34.5 kV GIS, GSU, MCCs).
• Apply governor and AVR controls; conduct protection and control studies.
