Job summary

Intuitive, a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery, seeks a Staff Electrical Engineer for multiport NPD to drive complex mixed-signal designs for next-generation surgical systems. This onsite role collaborates with firmware, software, and mechanical teams to deliver production-ready hardware.

You will lead design reviews, translate requirements into schematics, support layout, and mentor junior engineers, while ensuring EMI/EMC, signal integrity, and testability.

Qualifications

• At least 12 years of board design experience (or 10 years with Master’s and 7 years with PhD), taking designs from concept to production.
• Some experience with Verilog and FPGA design flows.
• Familiarity with point of load power regulation and switched-mode power supply design.
• Design for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
• Transmission line theory and signal integrity; familiar with HyperLynx or equivalent.
• Fluent in OrCAD Schematic capture (or equivalent).
• Ability to lead departmental and cross-functional projects and teams.
• Proven track record communicating with senior stakeholders on technical decisions and timelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in a cross-functional team to develop requirements and specifications for new designs.
• Implement detailed designs in schematic form and see design through layout.
• Collaborate with Firmware and Software engineering to bring-up designs and test functionality.
• Solicit feedback and implement iterative improvements on designs based on DFM/ DFA/ DFT, serviceability, reliability, longevity, and performance.
• Develop and execute test protocols and verify designs meet requirements and specifications.
• Collaborate with NPI and other engineering functions to transition designs into production.
• Act as a technical lead within the group and mentor more junior members.
