Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Staff DFx Engineer to lead design-for-manufacturing, test and tooling strategies for electrical controllers within the SDV architecture. You will partner with internal design teams and contract manufacturers to embed DFx best practices across modules.

You will drive DFx execution, support circuit board design, population, testing, and tooling, and work cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery and quality across development cycles within GM.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent engineering degree.
• 7+ years in-plant electronic control module manufacturing experience leading a cross functional team.
• Collaborative, team-centered experience delivering on-time, high-quality products.

Responsibilities

• Select test point locations, in-circuit coverage, and functional test requirements with cross-functional teams.
• Lead PCB assembly from bare board to fully populated, soldered and tested.
• Develop tolerance stacks and GD&T for tooling and test fixtures.
• Create 3D/2D CAD reviews with stakeholders and lead prototyping and testing.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate components into test fixtures.
