Job summary

Horizon3 is seeking a Staff Developer Experience Engineer to shape how we build, test, release, and operate software across our NodeZero platform. You will define standards for local development, CI/CD pipelines, container bases, and release governance while mentoring engineers and driving adoption of shared capabilities.

You’ll collaborate with Platform, Security, QA, and Product teams to create secure, scalable delivery foundations and to improve developer productivity through reusable tooling

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Developer Experience, DevOps, or related tooling leadership with delivery ownership.
• Experience designing and operating CI/CD systems, preferably GitLab CI/CD and self-hosted runners.
• Proficiency in Go and Python for automation and tooling.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes-based development/delivery workflows.
• Experience with security checks, release gates, SBOMs, and supply-chain security.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to influence technically without formal authority.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture and roadmap for local development, CI/CD, and release workflows.
• Lead initiatives to standardize path from code to production.
• Build reusable GitLab CI/CD templates and deployment pipelines.
• Establish sustainable container images, build performance, and provenance practices.
• Improve developer workflow and delivery observability with metrics.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering standards across Horizon3.
