Job summary

Intuit, Inc. is seeking a senior Staff Design Researcher to set research direction across Data Platform and Intuit Data Exchange portfolios.

You will turn evidence into product direction, influence strategy, and shape AI-powered experiences that are intuitive and trustworthy for a diverse user base. You will lead high-quality studies across many methods, partnering with product managers and designers to drive impact and align roadmaps with business goals.

Qualifications

• Deep command of qualitative and quantitative methods and the judgment to choose or blend approaches.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in HCI, Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, or related field.
• Strategic thinking rooted in business context with focus on moving decisions.
• Track record of research shaping product or portfolio strategy with measurable outcomes.
• Ability to integrate AI tools into design workflow to improve quality, speed, or exploration.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and tell a clear, structured story for executives.
• Understanding of AI capabilities, limits, ethics, and studying experiences where automation assists customers.
• Self-starter who can own research across portfolios and prioritize ruthlessly.
• Portfolio showing strategic research leading to real business impact.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent real-world experience; 8+ years hands-on research in industry.

Responsibilities

• Set research direction across Data Platform and Intuit Data Exchange portfolios stretching across quarters.
• Turn evidence into product direction with a clear point of view for leaders.
• Influence roadmaps, investments, and strategy through insight, not authority.
• Design AI-powered features that are intuitive, transparent, and trustworthy.
• Establish high research quality; guide PMs and designers to better practice.
• Plan and lead hard studies across methods from interviews to usability and behavioral analysis.
• Build a durable, cross-portfolio understanding of platform customers.
• Prioritize ruthlessly and drive progress across multiple open questions.
