Job summary

Redwood Materials is seeking a Staff Design Manager to lead design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to production. You will collaborate with Process Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, Facilities, and Production to ensure alignment with priorities and high-quality execution.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Architectural, Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering; M.S. preferred.
• PE or RA license preferred.
• 10+ years’ experience in heavy commercial and industrial sectors.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary scopes within A/E or Design Engineering firms.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Experience designing manufacturing facilities and site infrastructure including tool install.
• Understanding of codes and jurisdictions and relationships with external partners.
• Advanced project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Translate stakeholders’ requirements into clear project objectives and manage scope.
• Lead Infrastructure and Tool Install projects from concept through design and IFC.
• Manage permitting documents, transmittals, and RFIs.
• Co-manage infeed of customer requests from site teams.
• Own project funding request processes for major infrastructure improvements.
• Coordinate schedule requirements with Procurement and Construction partners.
• Identify resource gaps and drive cross-functional alignment.
• Define delivery strategies including design-bid-build and fast track.
• Lead feasibility studies and value engineering efforts.
