Job summary

Scribe is hiring a Staff Design Engineer to own Stylus, our design system, and ensure the quality of what we ship across web, desktop, extension, and marketing sites. You will sit at the intersection of design and frontend engineering.

AI-enabled design matters here: you’ll prototype in React/TypeScript, validate with real users, mentor engineers on design principles, and push for accessible, performant components that scale with the product. Hybrid in SF.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in front-end with design sensibility
• Own design system work and governance
• Prototype in code and validate with users

Responsibilities

• Own Stylus roadmap and quality; measure adoption, accessibility, docs
• Build hard components balancing aesthetics and performance
• Prototype in React/TypeScript and test with users
• Collaborate with designers without handoff
• Keep design and code in sync; migrate legacy components
• Explore AI-friendly design patterns and primitives
• Document prompts and workflows; mentor engineers
