Job summary

Clipboard is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to build and scale a design system that serves multiple product surfaces across mobile and web. You will own architecture from Figma to production, creating reusable components and patterns while ensuring accessibility and high-quality UI.

The role bridges design and engineering, and you’ll craft AI tooling to prototype andShip system-led experiences. You will partner with designers, product managers, and engineers to maintain alignment as the system

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production frontend design systems serving multiple product surfaces across mobile and web.
• Strong frontend engineering across modern web technologies and component-based architecture.
• High UI and UX craft with a keen eye for polished, usable, accessible interfaces.
• Deep experience building and maintaining component libraries, design-token pipelines, Storybook, visual regression, and Figma workflows/plugins.
• Strong accessibility fundamentals across mobile and web.
• Experience aligning Figma libraries with production code and building system usability for AI.
• Experience shipping prototypes, components, and system work faster with AI support.
• Strong communication that clarifies decisions for designers and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Establish the system's architecture across Figma and code, from tokens to components and patterns.
• Build reusable, production-ready components with states and accessibility built in.
• Keep design and code in sync as the system grows across Figma, code, and Storybook.
• Define system standards and enforce consistency and quality across teams.
• Create AI tooling and skills enabling prototyping and system-based development.
• Write documentation, usage guidance, and component rules for cross-tool use.
• Collaborate with designers, PMs, and engineers on how the system performs in complex workflows.
