Job summary

clipboard is seeking a senior design engineer to establish and scale a production frontend design system spanning Figma and frontend code. You will define foundations, build reusable components, and improve consistency and accessibility across web and mobile surfaces.

You will align design libraries with production code, maintain Storybook docs, and push for high-quality, usable interfaces while exploring AI-enabled tooling to accelerate prototyping and deployment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building production frontend design systems.
• Proficient in modern web tech and component-based architecture.
• Excellent UI/UX judgment and visual polish.
• Experience with design tokens, Storybook, and Figma libraries.
• Strong accessibility fundamentals.
• Experience connecting design libraries with production code.
• Experience using AI to accelerate prototyping and development.
• Clear communication and bias to build/test/iterate in code.
• Portfolio showing shipped interface systems and docs.

Responsibilities

• Define system architecture across design and code, including primitives, tokens, components, patterns, and user flows.
• Build production-ready components with states, interactions, motion, responsiveness, and accessibility.
• Keep Figma libraries, frontend implementation, and Storybook documentation aligned as the system evolves.
• Set quality standards and guide teams toward consistent, usable, accessible interfaces.
• Develop AI-enabled tooling, documentation, and rules to help teams use the system correctly.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to resolve complex workflows and edge cases.
