Job summary

Mixpanel is seeking a Staff Design Engineer in San Francisco to lead transforming our design system into AI-native infrastructure. You will craft token systems, component libraries, and guidelines that AI agents and tooling rely on, elevating design across the product.

You will collaborate with product design and engineering to ensure the product interfaces are conversational, expressive, and craft-forward.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or rebuilding design systems at scale.
• Strong craft, consistency, and taste in interface design.
• Fluency in AI-assisted design-to-code workflows and prototyping tools.
• Experience with Figma, Storybook, VSCode, Chromatic, and GitHub.
• Proven track record across design and engineering collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Build infrastructure for an AI-native design practice, including token systems and documentation.
• Shape the look and behavior of Mixpanel in an AI-first world.
• Own the bridge between design and code, shipping production changes.
• Prototype with high fidelity using real components and working code.
• Set and model the craft bar, enabling design-to-code workflows.
