Job summary

Juniper Square in the United States seeks a Staff Design Engineer to define our design system, establish governance, and drive AI-enabled design-to-engineering workflows at scale. You will write code, build components, and mentor others while shaping long-term collaboration between design and engineering across a data-heavy SaaS platform used by investment managers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years across design and front-end engineering with leadership impact.
• Proven experience building and scaling design systems with governance and adoption strategy.
• Defensible point of view on what makes a great design system; drives adoption across product org.
• Deep front-end skills (TypeScript, React, CSS) and strong design taste; lead through judgment.
• Experience defining technical strategy for design tooling and design-to-engineering workflows.
• Experience thinking how AI changes team-level workflows and building systems around that.

Responsibilities

• Own the design system strategy and roadmap; define system needs and governance.
• Define AI enablement strategy for design-to-engineering; integrate AI tools into workflow from prototype to production.
• Set technical direction for UI quality; establish standards and processes across design and engineering leadership.
• Identify systemic quality gaps across the product surface and plan remediation.
• Build infrastructure enabling designers to ship in code; create workflows, tooling, and templates.
• Partner with Design and Engineering leadership to shape long-term collaboration between functions.
