Job summary

MyFitnessPal, Inc. is seeking a Staff Data Systems Architect to lead the end-to-end design of the product data stack and drive the architecture roadmap across Data Engineering, BI, and backend teams.

You will set data movement standards, govern user data, and oversee vendor evaluations. The role emphasizes data governance, cost-conscious infrastructure, and scalable architecture to support a large consumer data platform.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years in systems design, architecture, or engineering roles, including 3-5 years designing end-to-end data platform architecture at the architect/staff level.
• Experience architecting integrations of a modern customer data stack—product analytics, experimentation, attribution, and marketing activation tools.
• Experience in Snowflake or similar cloud data platform, including performance tuning, cost optimization, and RBAC design.
• Experience leading vendor evaluations, tool consolidations, or platform migrations.
• Experience implementing data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including PII handling and deletion/DSR workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end systems design of the product data stack.
• Develop, drive, and maintain the systems architecture roadmap for the product data stack.
• Serve as the primary point of contact in Data Platform for the consolidated data stack, coordinating contributions from Data Engineering, BI, Product Analytics, and backend engineering teams.
• Define and enforce data movement and standardization discipline across the stack.
• Lead architecture reviews of new tool decisions and vendor evaluations.
• Contribute to the compliance architecture for user data, including PII tagging and deletion/DSR policy.
• Administer access and licensing across the data stack, maintaining a single view of spend and access.
• Document and evangelize architecture decisions, standards, and ownership models.
