Job summary

MyFitnessPal is hiring a Staff Data Systems Architect to lead the end-to-end design of the product data stack and shape the architecture roadmap. You will coordinate across Data Platform, BI, and backend teams to standardize data movement and governance.

Ideal candidates bring extensive experience in data platforms, cloud data tools, and cost-conscious engineering. This role emphasizes collaboration, mentorship, and scalable, compliant data architectures.

Qualifications

• 8-12+ years in systems design or architecture, with 3-5 years in data platform architecture at senior level.
• Experience integrating modern customer data stacks for product analytics and marketing activation tools.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms, including cost and access design.
• Led vendor evaluations, tool consolidations, or platform migrations.
• Implemented data governance, security, and compliance frameworks including PII handling.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end systems design of the product data stack.
• Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap for the data stack.
• Coordinate contributions across Data Engineering, BI, Product Analytics, and backend teams.
• Define data movement standards and enforce discipline across the stack.
• Lead architecture reviews and vendor evaluations, identify duplicates and value proof points.
• Contribute to compliance architecture for user data and DSR workflows.
• Manage access/licensing and provide a single spend/usage view.
• Document and evangelize architecture decisions and ownership models.
