Job summary

MyFitnessPal is seeking a Sr. BI Engineer to own KPI reporting and enable self-service analytics across the business. You’ll partner with Product, Marketing and Data Engineering to design scalable BI solutions and reliable dashboards.

You’ll manage data pipelines, optimize KPIs, and perform ad-hoc analyses to deliver actionable insights. Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools is required, plus experience with data warehouses and ETL.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years in a BI/Analytics Engineering role or equivalent data engineering exp.
• Advanced to expert SQL.
• Proficiency with Tableau, Power BI, or Looker for data visuals.
• Familiarity with Python or R for analytics.
• Experience building data warehouses and ETL pipelines.
• Experience in cross-functional stakeholder collaboration.
• MS degree in a technology field or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the reporting data pipeline and business logic with ownership.
• Manage complexity when data sources tell different stories.
• Diagnose KPI changes and identify drivers.
• Create clear analyses and actionable recommendations.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency in BI infrastructure.
• Perform deep-dive analytics on ad-hoc stakeholder requests.
• Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations.
• Architect data models to support data democratization and curated zones.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to unlock data for BI team.
• Partner with marketing and product teams to support core business needs.
