Job summary

The Predictive Index is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to build the data science function from the ground up in a startup-like venture, with the credibility of a 70-year science brand.

You will own the evidence behind every metric and insight, set standards for rigor, and build scalable data infrastructure while partnering with Product, GTM, and Leadership to shape the roadmap and outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of staff-level data science experience in product environments.
• Built product analytics from scratch end-to-end, with instrumentation, pipelines and dashboards.
• Deep expertise running product experiments with rigorous statistics.
• Able to act as sole SME, guiding direction and decisions on science.
• Translate ambiguous business questions into tractable data problems and decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the evidence layer end-to-end, ensuring defensible knowledge about outcomes.
• Define rigorous experimental methods and statistical standards for the team.
• Build instrumentation, pipelines, dashboards, and analytics infrastructure from scratch.
• Identify signals that truly drive client outcomes and differentiate product value.
• Design and run cohort and funnel experiments to validate or kill hypotheses.
