Job summary

The Predictive Index is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to build the data science function from the ground up for a venture-backed effort within the company. You will own the evidence behind product signals, establish rigorous methods, and shape the data-driven roadmap with cross-functional partners.

You will lead instrumentation, pipelines, dashboards, and analytics infrastructure, turning business questions into defensible insights and driving adoption across product and GTM teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of staff-level data scientist experience in product environments.
• Built product analytics from scratch and owned them end to end.
• Deep expertise running product experiments with statistical rigor.
• Ability to operate as the sole subject matter expert and set direction.
• Fluency translating ambiguous business questions into tractable data problems.
• Comfort operating at the frontier where research agenda and roadmap are still written.
• Graduate degree in a quantitative field and passion for AI.
• Builder mindset with seniority to own outcomes, not tasks.

Responsibilities

• Own the evidence layer of the venture, end to end, turning product and customer signals into defensible knowledge.
• Define the experimental methods, statistical bar, and analytical practices to ensure results are real and generalizable.
• Stand up instrumentation, data pipelines, dashboards, and analytics infrastructure from scratch.
• Identify what actually drives outcomes by correlating product signals to client results.
• Design and run cohort and funnel experiments to validate or kill hypotheses quickly.
• Shape strategy by partnering with Product, GTM, and Behavioral Science early in roadmaps.
• Extend the function over time by establishing scalable practices and standards.
