Job summary

Quince is building its supply chain planning science capability from scratch. The Staff Data Scientist will own the science charter, drive end-to-end forecasting and inventory models, and lead the tournament-style evaluation of AI-driven approaches across the planning domain.

You will mentor DS2/DS3 colleagues, partner with planning operators, and push for rigorous experimentation and production-ready solutions that move key metrics.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of applied data science or operations research experience.
• ownership of modelling workstreams end-to-end from problem framing to production deployment.
• Broad breadth across forecasting and OR: classical, ML, and AI-driven approaches.
• Engineering fluency to own feature pipelines, experiments, and model serving end-to-end.
• AI-native science practice with concrete examples of using AI tooling to improve results.
• Mentor scientists and raise the methodological floor of the team through code reviews and design discussions.

Responsibilities

• Own the science workstreams end-to-end: forecasting, inventory optimization, vendor performance, material signals.
• Set methodological standards for your area and guide modelling choices and evaluations.
• Collaborate with planning tools engineering on platform needs and production constraints.
• Drive AI-native science workflows with rigor and validated experiments.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to team growth and knowledge sharing.
