Job summary

Angi seeks a Staff Data Scientist to build the Pro agent suite, an AI voice/SMS agent that handles bookings and qualifications for homeowners. You will shape agent behavior, design experiments, and model lead-to-job conversion in a production-driven environment.

Role spans data science, evaluation, and collaboration with engineers, PMs, designers, and ops to scale high-impact solutions. Mentorship is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in a quantitative field or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years in data science and ML, preferably in marketplaces/tech.
• Experience with non-deterministic outputs and measuring quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead agent behavior improvements for conversation, qualification, and booking.
• Build evaluation systems and experiments to measure agent quality.
• Analyze real conversations to identify failures and improvements.
• Develop production-ready predictive models for qualification and engagement.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, designers, and ops to deploy data-driven solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and promote technical excellence.
