Job summary

Milliman IntelliScript is seeking a Staff Data Engineer for our Data Platform to drive technical decisions and ensure scalable, secure data systems across hybrid environments. You will collaborate with leadership and engineering teams, focusing on data governance, architecture, and performance in a healthcare data setting.

You will steer data modeling, API development, and ETL strategies, while mentoring teams and aligning initiatives with business goals.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience in design, development, and testing of Data Platform solutions such as Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, and Data Products.
• Expert level experience working in Databricks and AWS.
• Expert knowledge in healthcare standards including FHIR, C-CDA, HL7.
• Expert knowledge in clinical standards/ontologies including ICD10, SNOMED, LOINC, RxNorm.
• Experience building and managing solutions on AWS and data platforms for healthcare.
• Experience collaborating with Data Science teams and building AI-based solutions.

Responsibilities

• Act as a subject matter expert and thought leader within the Data Platform Domain.
• Define data processing design and implementation strategies for moving, storing, and maintaining high-quality data.
• Lead projects, manage timelines, coordinate teams, and communicate status.
• Ensure data governance, security, and compliance across data platforms.
