Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer - Data to help build the Consumer Data Plane, leveraging Credit Karma and TurboTax data to enable AI-native experiences and personalized product features.

You will design and maintain high-throughput data frameworks, extend Scala-based microservices, and own streaming infrastructure across GCP tools like Dataflow and Pub/Sub, with a focus on reliability and developer experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in Scala/Java or JVM language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency data frameworks across Credit Karma engineering.
• Develop and extend Scala-based microservices and frameworks on Finagle, Akka Streams, and gRPC processing petabytes daily.
• Build and optimize cloud-native data pipelines on Google Cloud Platform using Dataflow, Flink, Spark, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, and Spanner.
• Own and evolve Kafka-based streaming infrastructure with durable, low-latency guarantees.
• Create unified, type-safe persistence APIs for Spanner, MySQL, and BigQuery.
• Design encryption, decryption, and access control features for data governance.
• Create self-service tooling to reduce onboarding time for data platform users.
• Participate in architecture reviews and drive technical design decisions.
• Maintain on-call rotations and build observability into every system.
